I’ve been dabbling with the crow theme for a month or so now. No reason. I just wanted to do something… different but consistent. Give me a theme and I’ll run wild with it. Make me pick between a few different themes and I sit there like a sack of potatoes.
Why crows? Why not? They speak to me. And if I’ve learned anything, it’s that if I’m thinking it, someone else is too.
I downloaded a list of artist prompts a couple months back and finally got back to reading it. Holy disappointing, Batman! Like 100 ideas – 15 were straight out of foundation year college. There were a couple of “practical applications” but then the rest of the sheet was “how to like like an artist” with what to do with your RnR time or self-promo tips. If I was looking for that sort of advice, that’s what I would have searched for. Jeesh!
So… I took that list and made it my own… and then scrapped the whole thing and came up with my own 100 project suggestions. It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t that hard either. Now I have a “book” that I can publish. It doesn’t even have to be 100 things to do with a crow – it can be anything! Artist want a push, a prompt, a direction. I know this. I’m an artist. Why not give it to them (or sell a copy or two).
